|000694||xShunter||Configuration||public||2011-04-02 16:29||2011-12-27 11:14|
|Target Version||v0.2||Fixed in Version||v0.2|
|Summary||000694: Split configuration files in global and local part|
|Description||Currently only one configuration file exists (xShunter.conf). It should be split up in a global and a local part, easing maintenance when more than one server is run using xShunter.|
xShunter.conf should become the local configuration file which contains configuration settings that are specific to one server. It contains a new configuration element "GlobalConfig" which points to the file of the global configuration, by default "xShunter.global.conf".
Both the global and local configuration files can contain all configuration items (except that the "GlobalConfig" element is ignored in the global configuration file). If a configuration item is contained in both files the setting in the local file will always take precedence.
This way an admin who is running several servers can define his base configuration valid for all servers in the global configuration file. Afterwards he only needs to overwrite the settings specific to each server in the local configuration file instead of every setting.
